DUI
Survival Guide
If you've never had a DUI don't be lulled into thinking
you can't get one. Even if you have not had anything to drink,
it's possible for the police to arrest you and charge you with
DUI. This happens because people don't know their rights and don't
know what to do when pulled over. This guide will help you to
understand your rights and teach you how to correctly behave when
pulled over by a police officer.
Breathalyzer.net
While we at RIDL feel that breathalyzer's are not
an accurate way to measure blood alcohol content, we do feel that
it's unfair for the police to have breathalyzer's and the average
drinker/driver to go without. So we encourage the use of personal
breathalyzers by individuals. You can't rely on a bar or restaurant
to provide one, there is too much liability for them. You can't
count on MADD or NHTSA's claim that it takes 6 to 8 drinks to
get to .08. You WILL get in trouble if you follow their guidelines.
So you MUST protect yourself. We recommend you purchase a personal
breathalyzer and learn how to use it properly. The following is
not legal advice. We at RIDL are not lawyers, so do not rely on
this for legal advice. However, we have many members with a great
deal of experience and so we share our opinions with you here.
DO NOT drive if your BAC level is over the legal limit. If your
BAC level is below the legal limit and you feel impaired or your
friends tell you that you seem impaired DO NOT DRIVE. Otherwise,
have fun, enjoy yourself. Drink Responsibly, Drive Responsibly.
